Marisol Trejo

Writes and checks every pageToronto

Marisol Trejo is the pen name of the person who runs this guide. The name is fixed, everything here is written under it, and the record can be judged as a whole — but it is a pen name, and saying so seemed better than an invented biography with a stock photograph on top of it.

The background, plainly

Years spent in client-facing administration, none of it inside a gambling company. The useful part is having read rules for a living: the habit of going to the register rather than the marketing page, and of noticing when a company's published process and its actual process are different documents.

The gambling side is personal rather than professional: a family that plays occasionally, and one afternoon spent failing to work out who was supposed to be regulating a site that looked Canadian and was not. That afternoon is why this site exists.

What that means for what you read

  • The company and licence checks are documentary by design: a public register entry, screenshotted and dated, is what a finding rests on. No operator has been through the full check on this site yet, so what is published so far is the method and the map, not a verdict on anybody.
  • Anyone with a browser can run the same steps, which is the reason the method is published at all.
  • Provincial rules are quoted from the province's own material, with the date, because they move.
  • Where a claim comes from an operator rather than a register, the sentence says so.
  • Anything that could not be checked is written down as not checked.

Conflicts

This site earns affiliate commission on some outbound links, set out in full in the affiliate disclosure. No payment has ever been accepted for a finding, and no operator has ever seen a page before publication.
