Privacy
In force from 6 August 2026
The short version: this site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, embeds nothing from anybody else, and has no accounts, no forms and no newsletter. Reading it leaves the same trace as reading any web page, a line in a server log, and nothing more.
The whole of it
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Server log: IP address, time, page, browser string | Security and fault-finding. Written automatically by the web server, as on any site | Up to 30 days |
| Email you send us | To answer you, and to keep a record of a correction | Up to 24 months |
There is no third row. No profiling, no advertising identifiers, nothing sold or shared for marketing.
Nothing to consent to
None are set by this site, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. Our content delivery network may set one strictly necessary cookie for security; it carries no profile and cannot follow you to other sites.
Once you leave
Following an outbound link takes you to a company with its own privacy policy, its own cookies and its own practices, none of which we control. Where a link is an affiliate link, the operator may record that the visit came from here, usually as a code in the address rather than anything identifying you. See the affiliate disclosure.
What you can ask for
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw from any of it. Write to the desk; there is no charge and we answer within thirty days. If the answer does not satisfy you, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada takes complaints at priv.gc.ca.
If this page moves
If this policy changes the date above changes with it, and a change that widens what is collected will be flagged on the front page as well.
